Bells at night Orvieto?
Occasionally see hotel reviews complaining about the bell tower ringing all night and no sleep to be had. I am looking for a hotel myself and am wondering if this is a real issue, or can you get away from it by a few blocks distance.
Specifically looking at Piccolini, Virgilio, Sant Angelo 42, Ripa Medici, Casa Orchidea for October.
Thanks to all!

Hi rookie,
We stayed at Palazzo Piccolomini and had no noise. I'm a very light sleeper and bells would definitely keep me awake.
The only Italian town I've experienced with ALL NIGHT BELLS EVERY 15 MINUTES was Gubbio. Really bad night. I checked out a night early.
Definitely recommend the Piccolomini. Even though our trip was years ago, it still gets good reviews.

I don't remember church bells at night in Orvieto. I kept my window open.
Most Italian towns frequented by tourists are good at not ringing bells all night.
This is not the case for Switzerland where churches chime all through the night.
