Three Weeks In Greece April 2019

My wife and I, both in our late 60's, are just starting to plan our first trip to Greece in April & May 2019.
We like history, nature, some museums, Love food and drink and local culture. Not much into beaches or night life, other than a quite stroll through historic districts or along a boardwalk.
We have our airfare booked arriving April 16 and returning May 7th from Athens.
I need help with my travel itinerary.

Here is my starting point

May 1 vist Sparta & Mystras - Lodging 3- Nights Villa Vager Vitina Hotels | Levidi Hotels | Vager Hotel

Gourmet meals & a couples massage
May 4 Travel to Athens airport and return car.
Uber or taxi into Athens
Lodging 3-nights Air B&B in Plaka district.https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p6820501
Explore historic sights , eat and drink.
May 7 taxi to Athens airport for 11:30 Am flight back to USA.

Please advise on where I should adjust my schedule and if I should add additional stops or attractions.
My wife and I prefer slower travel and enjoying the local culture.

Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Saturday April 17 Drive to take the coastal highway Monemvasia ........................... I think you mean April 27.

If you live outside the EU be sure to bring an International Driving Permit. If you live in No. America go to your local AAA/CAA office.

Should be a nice trip!

Please remember to give yourselves time to recover from jet lag before trying to drive. Although many people are not aware of it, there is mounting evidence that driving with jet lag is just as dangerous -- to yourself and others -- as driving drunk, and nothing you can do will prevent the microsleeps (which you might not even notice) that are the apparent culprit. Seriously -- NOT a good idea, no matter your other constraints and no matter your prior experience! And please be patient with me if you think I’m being overly adamant, but I know too many people who have died or been seriously injured in accidents to which jet lag was a contributing factor, and I know too many people who will spend the rest of their lives dealing with the knowledge that they were responsible for accidents that resulted in multiple deaths, including those of children, all because they were too confident in their ability to drive safely with jet lag. The issue has become a bit of a cause célèbre for me….

Although I found my visit to the Diros caves pleasant enough, I wasn’t overly impressed because the formations have been rather badly damaged over the years – and the boatmen further that process by pushing their poles off them.

IMO, 3 nights is not much for Athens. Whether it will be enough for you depends on what you want to see an experience.

If you haven’t already seen it, you might find some useful information in my trip report:
With Gratitude for a Glorious Solo Month in Greece
