Three B&B's in Rome, Which one to choose??

I have narrowed down my choice of B&B's in Rome to three. 1-Nicolas Inn 2-Baldassini B&B, and 3-Arco del Lauro. Can you share your experiences or suggestions with me?
I'm having a hard time choosing.
Thanks,
bxl

We have been only in Arco del Lauro and we are going back shortly in October. I like it because it is minimalistic, I like the location and above all I like the feel coming from the owner, a generous , charming, welcoming person. I enjoyed the recomendations for restaurants etc that made our life much nicer in Rome.

Hi bxl,

I can only speak about the Baldassini as I have not stayed at the other two. Did you get the chance to read the links I gave you on your other thread?

The links provided reviews of the B&B Baldassini from Tripadvisor and restaurant suggestions etc.

Also, I offered you my discount code if you are interested in saving a little money on accom.

I'm sure you cant go wrong with any of the 3 you are thinking of choosing.

Have a great holiday.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought I included the links. Here they are now:

I am a Food & Travel writer hence the reason for so many restaurant recos.

And, as an ex Qantas Flight Attendant I only recommend what I believe to be exceptional accommodation.

P.S. I have heard the Arco del Lauro get some good reviews also on Tripadvisor, but I cant comment from personal experience.

Buon Viaggio,
Melissa

Graziella5b, Thanks for the info on Arco del Lauro
Aussiegirl68, I did get the info on my previous thread. It's so hard to make a decision, I have heard positive reviews on all three B&B's. I also appreciate the restaurant links.

I've only stayed at the Nicolas Inn. Five of us were there a few yrs ago; one double and one triple room.

I liked it a lot for several reasons:

The multi-lingual owners were super helpful. Melissa is from the US and her husband is Italian-French-Lebanese, I think. They can help you with anything from museum reservations to restaurant recommendations.

The exterior is just a huge door in a nondescript building, but upstairs the B&B is contemporary and very comfortable. One of our rooms was on the street side, but the windows were quite soundproof. Nice bathrooms in each room; the triple had a tub/shower combo and I think the double had a shower only.

The location was good for us: we walked there with our small wheeled bags from the train station; it was a short walk to the Roman Forum & other ancient Rome sites; and there was a decent trattoria next door & a good pizza (we were specifically looking for pizza that night, but I think they served other items) restaurant down the street.

I would definitely stay there again.

I haven't stayed at any of them, but am familiar with all the areas. If you haven't been to Rome before, you might prefer Baldassini which has the most central location. You would be in the heart of everything. The Nicolas Inn is on the very busy and the not so attractive via Cavour - just a busy city street. The Arco might be a bit removed for someone not comfortable with their way around Rome. Additionally, Baldassini is delivering breakfast to the room instead of having to go out. I need my coffee first thing and would not want to have to go out every morning.

Kybourbon,
Thanks, after reading your reply I've decided to stick with my first choice which was the
Baldassini B&B. I like the location and breakfast in our room is very appealing.
Thanks

We stayed at Baldassini last fall and loved it. The owner was wonderful, taking lots of time to give us directions and helpful advice. The location was perfect for sightseeing and we had some great meals within a block of the B&B. Have a fabulous visit!

You are welcome. Let us know how did it go with Baldassini. Arco has very few rooms and it is always good to know of an option. We are going this year in September I do not know why did I say October. Enjoy Rome. It is exciting, I find it easily walkable with a short bus ride here and there, do not overlook Via Giulia and surroundings. Take care..
