Thistle Royal Horseguards Hotel, London

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? What was it like? I was also wondering how far a walk to the nearest tube from this hotel and how long a tube ride to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and other attractions. Thanks.

trafalgar sq is a one minute walk to 3 minute crawl...

there is a tube station just in back of charring cross station on the strand just out of trafalgar that comes to mind instantly and i am sure there are others around...

my neighbor stayed there last year and was very pleased...old fashioned, traditional place but well kept up...decent sized rooms....right across from the horseguards and up the street from no 10...could not ask for a better location....maybe tony could stop by for a drink if you have a spare nite...

rhkkmk beat me to it. It is a very nice hotel with good service and in a great location.

You will be walking most places because it is in the middle of everything . . . .

Thank you for your response. I am seriously considering this hotel. Sounds like an excellent location, which is what I'm looking for.

I can't imagine taking the tube from Royal Horseguards to Picadilly. You'd spend more time in the "tube" than it would take to walk the whole thing -- maybe 10 minutes.

Thanks for the info Patrick. As I am not familiar with the area, I'm trying to get an idea where everything is. It's good to know that I am within walking distance from some of the attractions I want to visit. That's what I like about this forum. I can get lots of info from people who have been there.

Not sure if you've already gone to London. Just got back. Stayed at the Royal Horseguards for 5 days and it was top notch, excellent location, friendly staff. I was there on company expense account and it was pricey but well worth it. I was compelled to add my comments because I rely on this forum but never knew how much I could trust the replies. From my recent experiences, I recommend trusting the replies.
