Thistle Hotel information for London
Hi ,
Zwho and I are interested in the Thistle hotel chain in London. We thought the Thistle Hotel in Trafalgar Square would be a good choice. It is located just where we wanted to be and seems like the price is right and they appear reputable. We know that there are other Thistle hotels around London that are more expensive but we are on a budget. Please write me back with input for this hotel and please be honest.
Thanks,
natjgc

Hi nat,
Have you looked up your hotel at www.tripadvisor.com?
Have you searched for the hotel in the "search this forum" box.
You will get reviews at both places.

I stayed at Thistle T.S. May 2003 for one week, the rooms were not too spacious but clean and quite,Public areas were tiny, good buffet breakfast in a small dining room. But the location is unbeatable.
I stayed at Thistle Charing Cross last December, just across Trafalgar Square, the rooms and public areas are much better, but the location is about the same.
November 2002, I stayed at Thisle Victoria, the rooms and public areas are about the same as Thistle C.C.,but the location isn't as convenient except for going to Gatwick.
All buffet breakfasts were exactly the same.
I booked all the rooms through www.Londontown.com, actually paid most for the room at Thistle Trafalgar Square.

Hey Nat, Very good post. How was your 4th? I just checked Londontown.com for prices and availability of the Thistle Charring Cross. Judy C. was very lucky in December. The twin rooms are now either 111gbp or 150gbp as compared to our 82 and 84gbp for the TTS. I'm very happy with it, small and all! Its clean and we'll be in the center of lots of stuff we're going to London to see. AND we can afford it. Talk to you tomorrow.

My mother & I stayed at Thistle Trafalgar Sqaure last Sept and were very happy with it. As mentioned, the room was small but not too small, had a good closet. Shower was great, lots of pressure and water as hot as you could want it. Buffet breakfast (included) offers just about anything you could want. And the location...terrific! Also, we wanted to take the bus rather than the tube, and Trafalgar Square has more bus lines in all directions stopping there than just about anywhere else. And it's so close to Covent Garden and theatres, lots of restaurants. Did I mention that we were very happy there?

Hi Susan P,
Thanks for your input concerning the Thistle hotel in Trafalgar Square.
We have reserved 2 rooms because there will be 4 of us staying there. I know the location is great and I think it will be a perfect choice for our London stay.
