This is a first!
I inquired about availability of two rooms at a hotel near Piazza Navonna that was recommended by this board. They emailed that they had two rooms available at 180E each. They needed a credit card number to reserve. So last night I faxed our credit card number and they confirmed via email as requested EXCEPT the email confirmation confirmed two rooms at 185E per night. Nuh-uh!!!! I emailed back this morning reminding them it was 180E per night!!! No response yet. Sheesh.

Honest mistake? Probably.....In their favor, or course! We will most likely stay if it is the original price. I say most likely because we are still debating between this hotel and another. I know it is only 5E per night more but this trip is costing an arm and a leg and this is adding a little toe!
I will wait for a amendment to the first confirmation.

I have one that's a little better. The La Palma hotel(Capri) quoted me 202euro for a standard room and when I sent my credit card information they sent a confirmation saying we confirm for
355 Euro...What!Agh! So I e-mailed and they finally resent another one with the correct price...no apologies.

I sent an e-mail to a hotel in Venice and they confirmed 180 eur per night. I told them I will send them my credit card number. I also used Venice By and got a confirm back saying the cost for the same room is 200 eur. I called the hotel and asked why the cost difference and it because we used a booking agency rather that going to them direct. I booked it direct. Some of these booking agency's must charge 20 eur. to use them. Now I know.
