Question about italy hotels and payment

Does anyone know if the following hotels in Italy accept credit card as payment?

Rome-Albergo del Senato
Venice-Hotel Bonvecchiati
Rimini-Bellevue Hotel
Milan-Marriott Hotel

Thanks!

Have you emailed them or looked on their websites? I'm in the process of finding hotel in 5 or 6 cities and a lot of the hotel's websites will say things like "use credit card to hold or reserve the room but cash payment upon arrival (or departure) is required."

Hi Sandi,

I have checked some of the sites and they don't provide a clear answer, unless I am completely missing it.

I've always used credit cards but I havent' stayed at those hotels. Email them and ask. I think most do take credit cards.

I would assume any hotel (vs pension or B&B) would take credit cards - unless they specifically say otherwise. Not doing so would definitely cut into their business (I would never pay cash for a hotel - or any other sizeable purchase).

However, some hotels do give small discounts if you pay in the local currency rather than on credit card.

Hi

I go with sandi, email them and ask.

The hotels know better than we do.

As you might expect, the Milan Marriott accepts credit cards. Have to say it is not my favorite hotel in Milan, however, a bit dated and not in a convenient location for tourists, IMO>
