Things to do near Koningsplein
Have an apartment near the Koningsplein square for mid July for 4 nights
Have most of are agenda lined up, but wondering if there's anything nearby for when we have a free hour or two,
or if someone has a dining suggestion for this area of Amsterdam?

It's a very busy place and one that many locals gather in its pubs, coffeeshops Dampkring one of oldest and 'best' around - parts of Oceanside Eelevan filmed there and eateries - you are also have Rembrandt Square which is all pubs and restaurants close by. Great location. Walkable to everywhere practically. Hopefully menachem a local will ad more insight.

Actually, scrap Land van Walem: morphed into something unrecognizable under new ownership. Never mind.
Despite that: instead of orienting yourself to Rembrandtplein (aka "hell on earth"), the 9 streets area is on your doorstep if you go north, and also the imo most beautiful canal area of Amsterdam.
Anyway, Koningsplein itself is a thoroughfare for trams and even cars, and not a "square" at all. But it's incredibly central and well served with trams.
