Well after a few nights in Paris I went down south, where it's been too sunny. Rental car is often in the high 90s or over 100 if I get in after parking it for awhile.
Arms and legs are getting a good tan. I'd advise one of those hats with a wide brim to shade the back of your neck.

I was in Avignon during the heat wave of 2003, and if I could not find a place to park in the shade, when I came back to the car, the thermometer often showed a temperature of about 40° on the dashboard.

Beat you by a week - arrived this past Monday. The city is quiet for July, as tourists are slow to return. My one pre-buy was a ticket for the Carnavalet this coming Tuesday - the renovation is supposed to be fabulous. I will of course report all this to my fellow Fodorites as soon as I can after one more week here, then back to the US.
Hope you're having a great time and look forward to your report.

No, the Carnavalet is free, but you still have to go through a ticket site for the free municipal museums because they didn't feel like creating a new program just for that. When you confirm your "purchase" the amount to pay is displayed as 0.00.

Is there now an admission charge for the Carnavalet? On their site, they state that admission to their permanent collections is free, although you now have to reserve a date and time because of health regulations. https://www.carnavalet.paris.fr/
Hope you're having a great time and look forward to your report.
