THE dessert of Provence area?
What dessert do you think of when you think of Provence? For those of you that have visited Aix, Avignon, Arles, Orange, St. Remy, etc,.,. What is the one dessert that you feel is the dessert that you can only find there.

Yeah Cigalechanta!! Her recommendation
with perhaps a little sherbert in the melon. This is truly food of the gods!
Anthony (11 years in a row we have visited St. Remy. Hope to return this year. We stay in a pleasant budget hotel)

That would have to be the chocolate ganache with whipped cream and shrimp crackers I had at les Ateliers de l'Image in St-Rémy in October - YUCK!
Unfortunately, it has obliterated all thoughts of good Provence desserts.

Unfortunately, Betsy, they were definitely intended to be part of the dessert. Les Ateliers is a new Asian restaurant, and I guess they were trying to attain some sort of "fusion" thing with the desserts. Not a good idea.

This is the Hotel Les Atelierd de L'Image where she ate. If in St Remy, stop in. It's called that because it features an art gallery. Walk out back to the garden and you can see the room that has the living room built into a tree.

The shrimp crackers sound cruel to the taste buds.
Where can I find a great recipe for these? I've been on Epicurious, but nothing has turned up. If you don't have suggestions then maybe I'll improvise. I was hoping to get away with finding something on line, so I dont have to buy a cookbook for one dessert.

Provence: Anyone know Chateau de Massillan in the Vaucluse or L'Auberge Chateau de Berne in Lorgues?
