Thames cruise in Nov

Hi,

I noticed (from the timetables) that all leisure cruises on Thames stop around end of Oct. Is this true? Do the regular commuter boats operate in Nov?

Thanks

You can try the ferry between Charing Cross pier (near Westminster) to Greenwich which isn't bad :

This is a commuter ferry but is often used by tourists. Weather is changeable but November can be cold, wet and windy on the river so wrap up.

Boat trips between Westminster, the Tower and Greenwich run all year (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day). Their summer schedules end in October, but the winter services are slighly less frequent, and finish earlier in the afternoon. There are no boats to Kew and Hampton Court in winter.

The commuter service to Greenwich goes from Savoy Pier, not Charing Cross. These boats only call at Greenwich in the morning and evening peak periods, so are not of much use to tourists. They do go to the Tate Gallery, amongst other tourist attractions.

Definitely not true. It is probably just that the sites you're looking at show only the summer schedules and the winter timetable will be posted later.

oops - didn't mean to hit post.

-- info like on the Royal River site GeoffHamer linked where it says cruises to the Thames Barrier are suspended in the winter - that is only the longer cruises that go all the way down river to the Barrier - nothing to do w/ the boats in central London.
