Yangtze River Cruise in November???

We are thinking of taking a 4 day Yangtze River cruise in November, but we are rethinking this as we read that they are going to raise the water level at the end of October, and that "the mountains will then look like molehills". Also, since the locks will be closed, we will need to take a 5 hour bus ride from Wuhan to board the boat. I do not know if it is now worth the time and expense to see the scenery that is left after they raise the water in October. Any thoughts or advise on this would be appreciated.

How and from where do you go to Wuhan, and where does the boat go to from Wuhan?

The itinerary is as follows:
Day 1-

The itinerary is as follows:
Day 1-Fly from Shanghai to Wuhan and overnight at Holiday Inn.
Day 2-Take 5-5.5 hour bus ride to Maoping, stopping to see Jingzhou. Board boat.
Day 3-Before beginning cruise, visit site of dam. After lunch begin cruise entering Xiling Gorge.
Day 4-Cruise Wu Gorge and 3 Gorges. Weather permitting, take a ferry boat to the entrance of Shennong Stream. Board small boats on Daning River or Shennong Stream (if water level permits).Return to boat and go through Qutang Gorge.
Day 5-Shore excursion to Wanxian.
Day 6-Arrive Chongquing and disembark. Fly to Xian.
Any information/advice you could give me concerning this part of the trip would be greatly appreciated. Is it worth spending 6 days to see what it is we will see on the cruise?

Most Yangtze cruises baord at Yichang anyways, which is near the dam site, even before the locks are closed.

There's nothing to see on the river between Wuhan and Yichang.

Trip in November will be a little cold. I did a Yangtze cruise trip on Yangtze Gold ship in early November 2017, booked with yangtze.com at $415USD for each of us. we had to wear jackets and hats. Inside the cabins and public areas, it's all well heated with the air conditioning facilities; I hoped the temperate would be a little higher so we would relax on the upper deck in the evenings to watch the scenery to go by.

The trip is overall satisfactory, I would rate is 4 out of 5.

We also did the Li River Cruise, it's a much smaller boat without overnight accommodation.
