Teens in Paris..what to wear

Taking granddaughters, age 12 and 14, to Paris in June. I know they can wear jeans but are shorts appropriate in Paris? What do teens wear when it's warm? They want to wear what's "in"!

Really?? They won't look like sloppy tourists in Paris? They will be so happy to hear that. Thanks!

Maybe throw in a sun dress but tell them to save room in the suitcase for shopping.

>>They won't look like sloppy tourists in Paris?<<

If they dress sloppily -- they will look like sloppy tourists.

If they dress neatly -- they will look like . . . neatly dressed tourists.

Well, it depends on what they wear back home, I guess. But teens the world over wear pretty much the same gear these days.

There's no dress code in Paris. You see people dressed in everything from rags to furs and pearls all day long, everywhere. People have this notion that they need to "dress up" for Paris, and it's just silly.

There will be more than a few sloppy local teens however. Teen wear in Western countries transcends borders - tell them to bring whatever is in back home.

I took my teens to PAris.. and they looked too nice compared to some local kids.. lol .. I had sort of them bring all nicer things.. so let the girls bring their stuff.. honestly they will blend in fine.. note though that male teens do wear more fitted tshirts than the big baggy ones.. but whatever..
I agree with throwing in a sundress or skirt.. just something casual.. if its hot those are cooler than jeans and better for going out for dinner.. I would not wear shorts to dinner unless just eating at a fast food place or casual café.. but that's not any different than at home is it..

Our 13 year old wears torn, skin tight jeans, Stan Smith tennis shoes, t-shirts with cute phrases in English, and accompanying items in shades of gray and black. Scarves are worn with great style even in warm weather.

Her favorite stores:

Brandy Melville
Subdued
H & M
Jennifer

The only thing we noticed different in Paris - when we took our tween/teen girls - is that the girls tended to wear black jeans more than blue. But it was a percentage difference - not an absolute - so really either is OK

Oh - and definitely want something besides shorts i n case you get a cool rainy day. And some sort of skirt or dress for eating out if you are going nicer places.

I don't know about teenage wear transcending borders. My sons are Italian born - and they laugh at some of the Italian teen fashion. Jeans so tight they look like they've been sprayed on, girls wearing more makeup than a drag queen, boys with a can of product in their hair. My youngest saw a boy his age wearing a shirt that said 'I heart Selena Gomez' and he laughed for an hour. No offence to Selena Gomez but that wouldn't be worn where we live.

Forget jeans, even jean shorts - they will be too hot. Bring sneakers, t-shirts, shorts and a couple of pair of lightweight longer pants and a lightweight windbreaker in case it rains and turns chilly.

Really, let them wear whatever they wear at home.
June could mean jeans, or shorts, or both. You cannot say now that it will be too warm for jeans in June.

And a dress or skirt for nicer restaurants? Unless it's the michelin-starred type, jeans and a nice top would be fine.
