Tearooms

Hello.
Tell me about lovely tearooms that serve afternoon tea. I have looked at the Ritz for afternoon tea for my birthday party this year but the total driving distance is too much for me personally. I currently live near London in one of the Home Counties. I wish to make a list based on your useful recommendations.
All helpful suggestions are appreciated greatly. There are a couple of local nice tearooms within driving distance but I have previously visited both in the past. Feel free to recommend some other options worth considering as a alternative to posh upmarket restaurants and Oriental takeaway food.

It might be useful, instead of saying what's too far, if you tell us where isn't too far. So where are you more specifically & how far are you willing to go?

I got the impression that London was too far, what was wanted was somewhere closer to a mystery location in the Home Counties. Maybe it will be clarified.

I got the impression this might be someone collecting data for an article or blog post. If they really lived in the Home Counties they wouldn't be talking about driving to London, they'd take the train.

Maybe it will be clarified. Or not.

I thought the same but then with COVID maybe the train didn't seem safe.

Can you tell us the nearest big city to you, instead of saying Home Counties? That might help to narrow down the area. We visited a great little tearoom in Ely but that was years ago.

No one is going anywhere in and around London right now. Plans like this are for later.
