Can anyone give me an idea of how much approx it should cost to go from CDG to Hilton Arc de Triomphe in the 8th addirossiment?
We are a family of four with 6 suitcases.

As long as you are taking one cab, I would think it will cost a lot less than 65 euro! I paid 42 last spring to an area not too far away... But I was one person with only one large bag..

Is it easy to find in the lline en CDG large taxis to accomodate 5/6 persons?

The price varies, they are going to charge you one euro per bag( this is normal) . They have a different rate for day and night . When they hit traffic jams bill climbs steadily so if stuck in rush hour expect to pay up to 70-75 euros, if lucky and no traffic could be a little as 45-50 euros( plus 6 for bags, could you try and pack a bit lighter?, LOL ) .

Our taxi going to the 7th ( a bit further than the Arc) has always been about 50E and a couple of times it was with 4.
A van for 5 or 6 may take a little wait in the taxi queue. For 4 it is not difficult.

Thanks everyone! We have four 21 inch carry ons and two large rolling duffels we are checking with the extras. It is so hard to pack two weeks in one carry on bag and know we will not have laundry facilities. But the stuff is packed and ready to explode!
I will have 100E ready when landing for taxi and other small stuff.

I am guessing ride + 6E for bags, plus a couple of Euros for tip. I understand the tip is just a couple of Euros? If it is 70E, we will give 75?

Allow me to ask a hypothetical question: if you were flying into Frankfurt, could you manage to get your luggage downstairs to the <i>Fernbahnhof</i> to board the ICE train to Cologne without assistance?

If yes, then why not get the Roissybus from CDG to Op&eacute;ra and a taxi from there to your hotel? 8,60&euro; per person; no luggage charge or tips.

Well, I am very unfamiliar with all of the european airports. Yes, I am assuming we could manage the luggage, but we do not speak any french (except some pleasantries). So, I think a taxi on arrival is the easiest and worth the expense. But, thank you for the recommendation.

girlonthego - I don't know if a regular taxi can fit 6 suitcases! Just FYI, the Paris taxi has a surcharge for the 4th passenger (~3 euros) plus 1 euro for each suitcase. So you'll have to add almost ~ 10 euros just for the &quot;extras&quot;.

Graziella5b - I don't know if a minivan taxi can fit 6 people.

Would the airport have taxi/vans at the airport waiting for arrivals?

I think you are making the common mistake that knowing French is necessary to getting around. No language knowledge is required to locate and board the Roissybus. The stops - one at each terminal - are clearly marked with the name of the service and destination (there is only one route, from CDG to Op&eacute;ra). But definitely use the pleasantries.

But for 4 people, the Roissy bus is already going to cost 34E, and then the taxi. Seems to me to be pretty much of a &quot;wash&quot; to just take the taxi in the first place. No mess no fuss.

The taxi vans are all Renault Espace and similar models, which hold 7 adults plus luggage.

There are always vans and station wagons at the taxi stand at Roissy.

With the extra person fare, charge for luggage, and a tip, the difference is hardly a &quot;wash.&quot;

If the taxi totals 65&euro; as ira suggests, the two methods are $60 apart.

Of course the airport has taxis there for arrivals. I think every airport in the world has taxis there, that's one of the main things taxis do, but they definitely have a taxi queue at CDG and you follow the signs to get out to the spot where you can get one.

Ira based his on one thing, I based mine on my experience. Since we always go around the Etoile before arriving at our hotel in the 7th for the 50E price, I think the taxi will be less than 50E. SO you can take the Roissy bus for 34E, schlep your luggage to the taxi stand and maybe have another at least 10E fare. That seems pretty much a wash to me, and I prefer to stay in one currency for comparisons. The person can certainly make their own decision--I don't have a dog in that hunt. But I do think it is a valid point to bring up--in THIS case, where there are 4 people travelling. The multiplier for the Roissy bus is the equalizer.
