Taxi from CDG to Latin Quarter

Can anyone tell me how much it cost for a taxi from CDG to the Latin Quarter? I'm debating if I should take a taxi (for a family of four) or public transportation.

I took a taxi to my hotel in the 5th on Rue de Ecole and it was 39 Euro, which I rounded up to 40 E. This was at 6:00 p.m. (one person with one suitcase). After a long flight there is no way I would want to do train, bus or shuttle. It was very worth it to me.

I took a taxi from Latin Quarter hotel to the airport for 40 euros. That was for 2 people with one suitcase each at 11am. The hotel desk clerk (who also happened to be the hotel owner) arranged it for us, and she knew to the penny how much we would be charged. It was my first time to have a woman cab driver, and her cab was a Mercedes. Very nice indeed.

Hi CMA,

40E is about right for 1 -3 people. I think you will pay more for 4.

From my notes I have

Taxi for 4 about 60 E.
One taxi is about 45E, takes 3 people.

Taxi G7
01.41.27.66.99 English-speaking
01.41.27.66.66 Airport transport

Taxi Bleus
01.49.36.10.10 English-speaking

From CDG to Paris there are the Paris Shuttle (parishuttle.com), and the Bee shuttle (bee-shuttle.com) about 15 E each. Bee shuttle charges 90 E for 4 people in a private van. Paris Shuttle charges 120E for a limo.

I normally take the RER to and from the airport but with four people it worked out to be not much more than 4 RER tickets to take a cab. Summer 2002 from the 6th to the airport in the AM for four of us each with one roll on and one daypack/purse it was 40 Euro. The hotel called the cab and it was a station wagon and fit us all.

Your fare from CDG should be between 40 and 50 euros depending on traffic.
I find that Parisian cab company is the best.

Hi. Please take a cab, not public transportation. The cost difference for four is virtually non-existence and the ease is - well - priceless. The train/metro will let you out at St. Michel which will be a hike no matter where you stay. If you want to hike, go to the Alps. You're in Paris!

"If you want to hike, go to the Alps. You're in Paris." Shanna, that is one of the most brilliant posts I've ever seen here!

Shanna - ditto the praise from Patrick. As my Parisienne friend says, "Walking is for the tourists".

ESPECIALLY with a family, take a cab. The difference in the price is tiny but getting everyone through turnstiles and correspondances on the RER will be tedious. Be sure to go to the taxi stand and get a Taxi Parisien. Do not take a taxi from anyone who approaches you--they will overcharge. The fare should be around 40-50E including the small surcharges for 4th person and luggage.

er. um... dissenting point of view just for the offering... I took the Air France Bus to Galerie Lafayette...7 e's..then the cab into the 5th was only 8's and I gave a 2'e tip...
I took the cab once, accident on the A-1, the fare was 90'es and that was a couple of great meals outta my budget!
...just a thought
