You haven't mentioned restaurants but one of the best (IMO) kept secrets in Beaune is Ma Cuisine. It is frequented by locals though a review I read lately suggests it may have been discovered. A smallish place, it has a very extensive wine list located somewhere off premises as we have watched as the owner scoots out the front door and returns with a couple of bottles. The prices are reasonable. If your husband loves wine ....
The food is good fare though not pretentious but we still thought it was excellent.

robjame- of course there was no pressure to buy wines at Leflaive- from what I have tasted of their products most people would be happy to buy them
We had a tasting at Patriache many years ago. It started in the open cellar and when we indicated an interest in purchasing we moved into a closed tasting room. The wines in the second area were signifantly better than the ones in the open tasting room. We ultimately had 2 cases shipped, mostly of older and grand cru wines.

We had the same experience at Patriarche..but since we were the ONLY guests we we were escorted into the closed room without any questions as to whether we intended to purchase.
We did pay €10 each for the tour and tasting.

At least in Beaune you need not drive to a winery - there is zero tolerance now for just about any BAC for drivers - so either stay put in Beaune or drive and have a designated driver or take the train which does stop in some really neat villages with famous wine names and wineries.
