Taromina in Sicily

I am going to spend about 4 days in Taromina with 5 to 6 friends in mid July. As we hava a tight budget and schedule, can you recommend some cheap accommodation for us? We don't want to spend more than 20 Euros each. Any suggestion for places of interest? Thanks!

It seems that I don't make myself clear. I mean we don't want to spend more than 20 Euros a day for accommodation. Thanks!

So let me clarify further. You're looking for one room for 7 people for 140 euro total, or maybe two rooms for 3 or 4people at 70 euro per room?

Get real! Where can you get accommodation for US $ 16.66 per person anywhere in the Western world, let alone in a place that has been an international resort for more than a century!

Even the Odyssey Hostel is over $22 per day per person. Taormina is not a budget destination. Even if you could manage to find accomodations in your price range, you will find food costs the highest in Sicily.

Taormina is not cheap. It's the most expensive city in Sicily. For less expensive accommodations, stay down in Giardini- Naxos. Very pleasant, and by the sea.

Taormina just is NOT the place to stay if you need extra-cheap accommodations. But, if you'd be prepared for camping, maybe you can look into Campeggio San Leo. There are many websites listing it or mentioning it, so you can find the address and contact information and ask about the price. I know nothing about it. I just found it doing a Google search after reading your post.

P.S. The name of the town is Taormina. You'll need the correct spelling in order to do searches.

second the suggestion of Giardini-Naxos - only a quick train ride to Taormina. It will be much cheaper but you are talking peak season. Taormina is a very long way from a budget accomm destination.

Thank you for the information and correction. Well, I am wrong. I guess we need to spend around 30 Euros each per day for accommodation. Any suggestions for good food in Taormina? We don't mind spending more money on food.

Taormina is a beautiful town, but 4 days?? It is not a place that I would use as a base to go to other places.

If you are on a budget, you need to skip Taormina. Just go for a couple of hours, walk to the Greek theatre, addmire all the expensive items in the shops, and then LEAVE!
