Taking the kids to Paris in March
I am taking my kids to Paris in March and was looking for any advice on what to do, where to go and how to get there. They are 9 and 16. We will be there for 5 days. How easy is it to get around? Also, does anyone know what the weather will be like? Thank you

What to do: the usual tourist sites for a first visit...search this board for Paris, you'll get tons of info.
Where to go: see above
how to get there: metro and walking
For weather, go to weather.yahoo.com and put in paris france and then look for records and averages for the dates you'll be there.
With two kids I'd definately rent an apartment over a hotel room.
margy

Hi
I went to Paris in April a couple of years back. Maybe you can find some useful information in my Paris trip report with pictures, links and maps http://gardkarlsen.com/Paris_France.htm

The metro is great & the kids will love it, but it is really a good idea to get a map of Paris and the metro system before you go and study it well. It will make things a LOT easier. Get a museum pass too to avoid long lines...Paris is always packed with tourists.
There is a ton for kids & families to do in Paris. We spent 2 weeks there and barely scratched the surface so will go back. You might want to read our blog to get some ideas.
Paris starts here and continues

We found books really helpful for preparing and giving us great ideas for literary itineraries which adds to a kids fun:

Including a day trip to Monets Garden following Linnea:

We loved the Left Bank, Notre Dame & Shakespeare and company!!

Montmarte is a fun spot for kids:

Or walking up the Arc de Triumph:

Don't forget to stop at Angelina's !!
There are more things to do in Paris for kids than space here. Have the kids help in the planning. The weather will probably be lousy..cold and rainy, but you could get lucky and find some sun. Dress in warm layers ( that you can wrap around you when you are in hot museums) and have an umbrella for all.
Here is a website for Paris for kids with lots of book ideas as well. You might want to watch movies with a Paris theme as well ( like Madeline, the red balloon, American in Paris, the Hunchback of Notre Dame etc) to help get familiar with the landmarks.
Teach them a little French before going if they don't already know it. All the parks are wonderful in Paris which your younger one should appreciate. There is a ton of walking in Paris ( & all of Europe), so make sure you are all ready for that and have good ( waterproof) shoes that are worn in.
You will have a ball!!

Please please see if you can engage Michael Osman for at least one day. You will NEVER regret it for you and for your children. If you only want one day with him, have it be for the museums. He is a natural teacher, great sense of humor, wonderful teller of anecdotal history of Paris and museums. And VERY reasonable.

Paris is a favorite destination of my kids. Their favorites:
Jardin du Luxembourg
Notre Dame
Walking along the Seine
Tuileries & Louvre- the Louvre website has some nice resources for kids...
Versailles
Weather in March can be quite cold and wet.

Oops I left out that book website I mentioned:
http://www.travelforkids.com/Funtodo/France/paris.htm
Here is another:
http://travelwithkids.about.com/od/p..._With_Kids.htm
I would skip Disney Paris and go to the Asterix park if you must do an amusement park.
Go to the library and get the take your kids to Europe and take your kids to Paris books.
Here is one more link looking for the first one again:
