Swiss mountain scenery in late April

Just finishing up plans for a spring visit to Switzerland. I have planned to stay at lower altitudes for the first part of my trip but would like suggestions for the last few days in an area that would allow us to experience the beauty of the mountains. Lots of warnings on this site about snow, unpredictable weather and driving issues in April.
Can anyone suggest a small town with scenic mountain views that would be pleasant in the spring?
Thanks

Ditch the car and go somewhere in the Berner Oberland ABOVE Lauterbrunnen.

Save about 20% of your money and see the Dolomites instead.
Look at the village of Castelrotto.

We've visited Switzerland a few times in April and would happily do so again.

This might give you some ideas of what to expect that time of year:

Anywhere around the lakes will be fine - Lakes Thun, Brienz, Lucerne e.g. or Lake Geneva (Vevey-Montreux).

The weather is always unpredictable in the Alps, at Kasteruth/Castelrotto BZ not less than in Switzerland.
The driest area of Switzerland is the Canton of Valais (Sion, Sierre, Val d'Anniviers, Crans-Montana, Saas Fee, Zermatt, Riederalp).
Don't book too much in advance, it's low season anyway. Go into the mountains when the weather forecast is good. Day trips from places like Lausanne, Berne, Basle, Zurich into the high Alps are easy.
