Swarovski Crystal World
Did you go? It looks like it could be one of those things that looks great from the outside but once inside, ho hum. Is that true?
If you went what did you like?
What didn't you like?
Was your time well spent?
Thanks

Hi LSky,
Yes, we went. I'm not a big fan of Swarovski Crystals (or the like), but my wife is. The exhibits were pretty good. On in particular I thought was very good. You stand in a big sphere and... hard to describe. Light show? Lazer show? Pretty neat though. HUGE store at the end (exit). We toured it on our own (no guide). It was just ok IMO, my wife really liked it.

I went, about 4-5 years ago.
What I liked - seeing crystals used in interesting ways
What didn't I like - seemed more like a way to lure shoppers than anything else, since the shop seemed bigger than anything else
Time well spent - no, I'd rather be skiing, in a cafe or bar or soaking up the scenery

This firm has large stores in Innsbruck and Vienna for those fans.
Prices are the same everywhere including the Chrystal World - selection similar so no reson to visit thinking you find bargains or unique items.
Many do not like the idea that no factory tour or real information is included and the actual tour not worth the valuable sightseeing time better spent elsewhere.

Thanks all, I'll skip the flagship stores. Shopping doesn't interest me too much. It's more is the art is interesting or the architecture special.
So, far it doesn't look like it scores any points architecturally but the art caught my attention.

We went a few years ago. It wasn't what I was expecting. It was more modern than I thought it would be. I was a big fan of Swarovski when we lived in Vienna many years ago, but don't really have the money to buy them anymore.
I don't know that I regret going but I don't know that I could actually recommend it either.
