The museum is a rather small gallery of various crystal displays -ie-almost like abstract art. The museum tour itself took about 10 minutes, then you are automatically led into the huge showroom/shop.

If you are into crystal, and want to pick up a few pieces (the jewellery is really nice), it might be worth a drive, but not just for the museum displays. Hope that helps.

If you're talking about Swarovski's "Crystal World", their headquarters in Wattens, we've been there. We thought we'd be able to see them making crystal, but it is not that kind of tour. It's a very modern walk-thru, almost like an EPCOT type of exhibit! It is difficult to describe...very different. But, it was fun. There was an enormous shop at the end of the tour. The guys and kids in our group then went outside to the parklike grounds, and the women shopped up a storm! I'd say if you have the time, it is worth the drive from Innsbruck. It's not that far, nice scenery along the way, and a fun experience.

I thought the museum was very interesting and well worth the drive from Innsbruck. I did buy a piece of jewelery for 85.00, a bracelet that after a few wearings the stones started falling out and when I tried to have it fixed at a local swarovski shop I was told it had absolutely no warrenty whatsoever. Nice museum crappy cheap overpriced jewelry. The prices are similiar to retail actually I thought they were very high...and didn't see any big crystal bargains, either.
