Kraines,
We are leaving the night of June 23rd from Chicago. They didn't notify me of the time change, I called for some other reason and then they told me.
The ticketing agents do not seem very knowledgeable--when I first booked the trip, I asked if the flight was non stop because I had heard from a friend that all flights stopped in Dublin before continuing on to Shannon. She insisted it would not stop in Dublin. Then I found out much later they do indeed land in Dublin first, and that we apparently will be in Dublin a couple of hours now that they have changed the times.
I think I'll call again to verify this. Maybe they've even changed the times again--I booked this flight so long ago. I'm not sure if we will be allowed off the plane or have to change planes.

Kraines,
I checked with Aer Lingus and we will be on the ground in Dublin for 45 minutes, so at least we will not have to get off the plane. Although by that time, we may want to!
I booked this flight through American Airlines, by the way, using frequent flyer miles, so maybe that's why there was some confusion on the route. I kind of wish I was flying American now that they have their new service to Ireland, but it's too late to switch.

Kraines,
Were you able to get assigned seats in advance for your Aer Lingus flight? I thought I had done that but when I just called they were only able to assign our return flight and we got stuck in the middle (the plane has 2 seats, 4 seats, then 2 more seats across). They said I had to wait until the airport to get the seats for the flight going there from Chicago. I wonder why that is, and if that means the four of us may not get to sit near each other?
