Suggestions for Munich in early December

Dave,
I've nothing to add to your list - Munich is very walkable and you will discover much that way. I enjoyed the art museums but it seems that is not of interest for you. The Christmas markets are quite nice to stroll even for non-shoppers such as I. I personally enjoyed Dallmayr and even ate a nice lunch there.
Be sure to eat some quark!
Dachau is a tough day but one I felt we ought to do. My advice is to eat a decent meal beforehand so the blood sugar is steady. Afterward, a stroll in nature would be nice if you can swing it - stroll some palace grounds or something like that. The transition from Dachau to Christmas markets may be rather too much. I believe we spent the night we visited Dachau in Fussen and that was a good transition. This time of year there are sleigh rides. (There is a quite good Jewish History museum in the center of Munich as well.)
I love Bavaria - gorgeous area with welcoming spirit and Munich is a nice little treasure. Have a wunderschön trip!

gruezi, not to worry, we will probably take in at least one art museum. However, as much as we enjoy them and love to do that, we have found that there are limits. Likewise, despite our extreme religiosity, the same goes for churches. And palaces. Bier und wein stubes, not so much.
We have debated visiting Dachau, but will probably do so. Our daughter told us that after visiting Auschwitz her class attended a classical concert in the evening. Not much interest in partying that night.
Was ist quark?
