Suggestion on my plan please

Hello from Australia,
My husband and I plan a trip to Europe this May-June. We are in our early 40s enjoying culture, museum, architecture and nature. Not into nightlife, adventure or drinks. We've been to Europe many times mostly in Western Europe. We need to visit family in Nice and London. So this is what I plan so far.
Fly into Budapest
Budapest x3
Ljubljana x2
Bled x 1-2
Trieste x 2
Venice x 4 (fly easyjet into Nice)
Nice x 7 (visit our family)
London (via TGV or flight) x 7

I feel that it is not quite well planned...I really want to visit Prague but dont know now to fit it in without having to include Vienna. Any suggestions/comments?
All travel via train unless mentioned otherwise.
Please give me some ideas for my 14 day trip (excluding Nice and London). Thank you.

Should be a great trip!

I would want more time in Budapest, even if I wasn't trying to deal with jet lag -- which you are likely to experience, if coming from Australia.

I don't see how you could include Prague without shortchanging other locations. JMO.

Sounds good. Only comment is that the journey from Budapest to Ljubljana is very long - at least 8 hours on bahn.de. This will give you only one day in Ljubljana if the numbers you've shown are nights. Are the numbers nights or full days?

Prague is even further from Ljubljana so not sure that you could manage that, even if you dropped Budapest. I suppose you could fly but you already have internal European flights and flights are never relaxing.

Would this be too rushed for you? Lot of travelling but fits in Prague.
fly to Venice (2)
Trieste (2)
Bled (2) or visit Bled as day trip from Ljubljana
Ljubljana (2)
Budapest (3)
Vienna (2)
Prague (2)
fly to Nice

You can adjust the days/nights. It depends on how fast you want to travel. If there is luggage storage in Trieste, you could leave Venice early in the morning and travel on to Ljubljana the same day.

Maybe
fly to Venice (3)
Ljubljana (3) - stop at Trieste enroute and Bled as day trip
Budapest (3)
Vienna (2)
Prague (3)
fly to Nice

Let us know what you end up deciding.

I've been to all those places, if I had to drop any I'd drop Ljubljana or/and Trieste.

There is a fair bit to see in Prague and Vienna, I'd move some time there.

Bled, you will love Bled, one of the most beautiful places in Europe

I think you just need to make some choices. I love Prague and would do that and Budapest - dropping L, Bled and Trieste.

But that's my trip. You need to work out what you want to see there and how long it will take. There is no way I would do 2 nights (only 1 day) in any of these places.

The reason I found it hard to include Prague is because the flight (according to EasyJet) doesn't fly from Prague to Nice directly.
Another different way I think would be:
Fly in Budapest
Budapest x 4
Vienna x 3
Prague x 3
Berlin x 3
Nice x 7
London x 7
*these are a number of nights we stay in each city.

The closest airport that we can fly direct to Nice would be 'Basel', 'Venice', 'Berlin' or 'Geneva'.

My husband actually prefers we do Portugal, Spain, Nice and London. So this is my second plan as well...sorry, you can see I am so undecided

Well, under this plan you are, IMO, shortchanging Vienna, Prague, and Berlin (and, depending on how you deal with jet lag, maybe Budapest, too). Unfortunately, you can NOT see everything you want to see and so have to do what we all do -- make some very difficult decisions.

Good luck!

The Architecture Biennale will be happening in Venice, starts in late May. Might be worth putting some time aside, as the Biennale is the Olympics for architects.

The Australian pavilion, designed by Denton Corker Marshall, is really worth a visit. Also the Biennale allows access to the Arsenale, normally closed to the public.

Is there a reason for wanting to fly Easyjet? Amadeus.net shows lots of flights from Prague to Nice. Also, I had the impression on your original post that you weren't that keen on visiting Vienna. Perhaps you could prioritise the places you'd like to visit, in order, to allow you to ensure you don't miss out on somewhere that's important to you. btw a longer train journey is, IMO, much easier to bear than a short flight with all the fuss that goes with it.

dreamon makes a great point about trains, which I also prefer to flights. Look at:
