Sugar substitutes in Greece? Diabetes.

Are there readily available sugar substitutes in Greece, or in Greek grocery stores? Or should I plan on bringing my own Equal or SweetnLow type products in my suitcase. I will be there for 2.5 weeks.

Thanks for any info.

Rick, if I might be so bold, I will give you my 2 cents worth.

How much sugar do you expect to use in 2.5 weeks? Those little sugar packets hardly take up any room at all. It would just seem to make sense to take as many as you think you'd need.

Your time on vacation is more valuable than hunting for grocery stores when you need your sugar. Take some with you, and the problem is solved.

Happy travels!

I would take what you need, in packets, in a small ziplock. Why bother trying to find it on vacation?

I VERY rarely see this offered in European restaurants, I bring my own packets, or do without sweetener

i have found artificial sweeteners in every place all over europe. they do not leave it out to deter people from stuffing their pockets with it. you have to ask for it. "sacarina" usually is pretty universal.

however, more than anything, i would take your own familiar brand to enjoy the taste you have been accustomed to.

the unpleasantness of a metallic after taste of some of these sweeteners could ruin your coffee.

The sweetener you buy in Greece you'll have to pay for in Euros. Further comment is supefluous.
