There is a train. I'm sure you will mget many posts about where to catch it. We have driven several times but as your first time alone I would recommend the train. You could probably look up the schedules online I believe on the SCNF web site. You will love Strasbourg.

schedule is on the web site...an easy ride, but also an easy drive.....if you are feeling adventerous, rent a car, stop in Reims. With Paris (Notre Dame) and the cathedrals at Reims and Strassbourg under your belt you will have seen 3 of Frances very great cathedrals. Over the years I have "collected" memories of the great cathedrals of France...I've seen them all now and these 3 are well worth the effort (also Chartres)

Train schedules and fares are on www.sncf.fr or schedules can be accessed more quickly on www.bahn.de. The high-speed line is still being built, so there are no high-speed trains.

Train takes between 4 hours and 4hours 30 mins depending on the train. When booking on voyages-sncf.com be sure to select Corail Tezo and not just plain Corail. The Tezo trains are brand new and MUCH nicer than the old Corail. You could also drive but considering the cost of gas, tolls and car rental it is much cheaper for one person to take the train.

But may I ask you again how can I go from Munich, Nurmber, Frankfurt or Würzburg to Paris? in the cheapest way?
