Stockholm or Copenhagen

We will be in Scandanavia for about 2 full days, and are considering Stockholm and Copenhagen. Looking for discussion regarding both, and opinions. We are mid-20s, mainly interested in cool things to see. Nightlife is not so important to us while on vacation. I look forward to reading any responses!

What sort of things do you like to see? Historical sites, museums, whatever. Helps all of us narrow it down quite a lot.

We were in Stockholm this time last year -5 days in Stockholm and 2 in Copenhagen. Was so glad it wasnt the other way round. Stockholm was just fabulous.Lots to see. I walked and walked while my poor husband was working! Its such a clean city and the people are so well dressed - sophisticated! There are great bars - lots of them have sofas outside with cushions and blankets to put over your knees. I loved to window shop too. All these little islands to go to as well... AND the food was fantastic!Couldve stayed longer but we went to Copenhagen. Hmmmmm....! Its more a stag destination - lots of people walking around with bottles of beer at 11am!
A lot of noise from a lot of drunks at night time too. It was a pretty enough place but that kinda ruined it for us.

There's plenty to keep you busy in either city if you are only there for two days. Having been to both at the beginning of the year, I think I would take Stockholm. Are you going soon? Two things I would really recommend in Stockholm: the Vasa Museum and Skansen. If you are going soon, with the good weather, you might want to leave some time for just enjoying the city. You can take a river cruise, and also the old town, Gamla Stan, is a fun place to stroll through. The Royal Palace is there and so is the Stockholm Cathedral. We stayed in the old town and I liked it there. As the previous poster suggested, the Danes get pretty loud later on at night. There is a problem with alcohol in Denmark. Having said that, they are usually harmless, just loud.

I was on a bus tour in Stockholm and did Copenhagen on my own with DH. This may have made a difference in what I think, but I prefer Copenhagen over Stockholm.

Both are lovely, but if you only see one, see Stockholm. Don't miss the old town and the Vasa museum.
