Stockholm hotels--on a budget!
In typical MissZiegfeld fashion, I am adding a few days in Stockholm to my Italy trip (I know, i know, some of you are shaking your heads. I think almost every trip I've taken I've gotten a last minute urge to tack on a few days in a city no where near where I am LOL)
Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for Stockholm, for around $125 a night (or under!). I'm not terribly picky, as long as my room as it's own shower/toilet and a tv. it can be a b&b, hotel, pension, I don't care! Central location also needed.
Thank you!

You might try The Lady Hamilton. They have a website so just google. You could call them or e-mail them. We stayed there the first part of Jan. this year. My neice and I were supposed to share a room but for a couple of reasons I decided I didn't want to share so asked the desk if they had another room available. Lucky for me she said yes and I got a single for my neice. It was about 120.00 per night. It was small. This hotel in on Gamla Stan...great location..the hotel dates from the 1400's and has been converted into a hotel, therefore the rooms are pretty small. The hotel has a real B & B feel to it. Great staff, lovely breakfast room..our rate included breakfast. Now, I realize we were probably in the "off season" and summer is when more people would be traveling to Scandahoovia, but you might give it a go. They may not actually book as many single rooms, so you might get lucky.

Just returned from Stockholm this week. Everything with private bath in the city at every price under $500 USD was full. We ended up at the Quality Inn in Globen for about $200. It was a 10 min ride by subway. Quite nice.
Consider staying outside the city somewhere near the subway if you can't find anything in town.

Miss Z....you'd be very happy at the British-owned Mornington Hotel...it would meet your rate requirements...it's quite nice, down the street from the well-known indoor market which is great for lunch... only a few minutes walk to Old Town and in a very nice part of the city...rooms are good size, big bathrooms and a lovely full buffet for breakfast. Very nice clientele. We stayed there two years ago and would certainly stay there again.

I am booked into the Adlon Hotel in July - since I haven't stayed there yet I can't give a real recommendation, but it is #3 on Trip Advisor. The price on their web site is in your price range. I got it for quite a bit less from Hotels.com (I am paying $85 for a single). I found prices in Stockholm are cheaper in the summer, not quite sure why, but several hotels I checked had "weekend and July/August" prices that were significantly lower than the rest of the time.

Just got back from Sweden. Stayed at SAS Radisson Park In Solna (12 minutes on the subway; BTW subway station is just 50m from the hotel entrance) for four days. It was about US$113 per night, all inclusive for twin-sharing. But this is an online last-minute deal. However the hotel's very nice with big breakfast spread and the room was clean and pretty spacious.
