Still looking for a hotel in Venice: Locanda Ca le Vele, Hotel Riva, Locanda di Orsario, Ca del Dose "dependance"

I thought I was set with reservations at Casa Rezzonico, until we had to shift our dates by a few days and now can't get availability at Casa R. It seems Venice books up quickly for early May. Anyone have recommendations to make on the above named hotels? They all have availability and are in the 150EUR price range for a double. I've read mixed reviews on Hotel Riva, so am wondering if anyone has been there recently to report on it. Locanda Ca le Vele looks cute. Ca del Dose doesn't have hotel rooms open, but does have one in their 'dependance' which I guess is like an annex next door. The Locanda di Orsario I found on Expedia.
Help?!

Almost stayed at Ca le Vele a couple of years ago, and got good feedback on it here then.

I imagine you've already done a search by your new dates on venere.com?

I'm also going in (mid) May, at your same price point. We are staying at the Ca dei Dogi. Strongly considered the Hotel Ca' Furlan alla Croce di Malta. As well as Casa Martini, Ponte Chiodo, and Ca Pozzo. (The latter slightly more expensive.)

I've booked the Hotel Riva, as most reviews are very good, its photos on-line look wonderful, they are very helpful and responsive via e-mail, and its price is good. It's only a one-star, but I don't care about an elevator, room service, etc. Some rooms are air conditioned and some aren't. Do you even need A/C in Venice in early to mid-May?
Best of all, the Hotel Riva is available-- as Saturday, May 13, in Venice is booked solid for some reason. Anyone know what's going on then?

We lived without AC in Venice in mid-June so I think you should be fine.

We stayed in Hotel Riva in late May/early June in 2002. We were very pleased with our room. I do not remember it being too warm at all. We had windows overlooking the canal. The rolls and coffee in the morning were handy! We definitely would stay there again.

It's location is terrific, too.

Stayed at Locanda Ca'Le Vele in September 2004. Were very pleased with our room, owners were very kind and helpful. Would return in a heartbeat.
