Stansten train Vs. taxi

Arriving in London Stansted airport on a Sunday @ 3:00 PM in late April. We are staying at The Thistle Marble Arch Hotel, Bryanston Street in London. What is the best way to get to the hotel from Stansted? The train drops us off at the Liverpool Street station. We are considering a taxi as an alternative. Also, if anyone knows, how far is the hotel from the Liverpool Street station.?

Many thanks!!!
Larry

A taxi would cost a small fortune. Stansted is quite a ways outside London and I'd guess it would run £90-£100+ cab fare.

National Express coaches run from Stansted into London w/ a stop at Marble Arch. Takes about 90 minutes and costs about £10

The train to Liverpool St takes about 45 mins and costs (I think) £18 -- then you have to add the time/£ to get to Marble Arch by tube.

To do the National Express do we take the A9 or A6?

Thank you!

Not the A9 - that goes to Stratford in East London.

PS - you don't need to book in advance. There are desks both in the arrival lounge and downstairs in the bus station part of Stansted (I would suggest the one downstairs, as less likely to be besieged).
