Dean, do you even understand cycling? Of course the Spanish riders did the set-up work. That's what they're there for! Their job is to support Lance, plain and simple. If they were good enough to win the overall race, they would be leading other teams, not riding support for Lance. Lance's own team mate is never going to "challenge" him. He'll play whatever role the team director specifies. If that role is to sit back and let Lance win the stage, that's what he'll do.
