ST.TROPEZ - 1 day Excursions
Off a cruise in St.Tropez for 1 day (7am-6pm) in June.
Have wondered around the village a number of times before.
Can anyone recommend an interesting excursion from a historical/architecture/cultural point of view for about 4-6 hours from St.Tropez , say within a distance of 30-40 kilometres from there ?... or any other suggestions
thanks

Well maybe look on Cruise Critic or check out Tours by Locals - even if you do not want to do one of their tours, it might give you ideas of what could be done nearby. We stopped at St. Tropez on a cruise several years ago - it seems to me, it was not easy to daytrip from and I didn't really like the vibe - too chi chi for me!

Ramatuelle, guys... and you can go to the cemetery where you can see the tomb of Gerard Philippe.
Well known to French who were born before me. Long before me actually since the guy was dead before my birth.
Fanfan la tulipe is one of his most famous movies.
In Gassin I recommend le micocoulier as restaurant. Was there two weeks ago for my 25th time I guess...
Frejus is bof. There is a zoo, but not that exciting and an aqua park - nice esp with kids.
St Raph close by is better.
In Grimaud, nice small town, I recommend some walks - one starts at the old castle and is 2-3 hours long. Very nice.
At St Trop itself, did you go to the baie des Canebiers via the small seaside path (le sentier du littoral or le sentier des douaniers) you can walk several hours and stop at intervals to swim.
If you are a fan of flowers or plants, go to the Rayol-Canadel, very nice. Used to be the house of Mr Bloch, who was a airplane manufacturer. Who changed his name into Dassault.

Or go to Port Cros (island). A national park now, lots of walks too - I think you an rent a bike.
