St. Martin canal trip-does the guy still play the clarinet

Six yrs ago my daughter and I took a memorable 3 hr trip during which the guide who was British and quite witty played the clarinet. Does anyone know which line we were on and does anyone know if this fellow is still on board? Thanks.

My husband and I did the Canal trip last June. We were the only English speakers but the guide repeated his dialogue in English for us. There was no live music but there was music via CD. We did the tour on a weekday and it was only us and a senior citizen group.

This sounds so odd. I love the peaceful ride on the St. Martin Canal, but as a former clarinet player myself, I can't think of anything more annoying than having clarinet music while doing that cruise.

We took the trip on a Sunday morning last October, leaving from the pier in front of the Musee d'Orsay. No clarinet player, commentary in English and in French, very relaxing. You see Paris from an entirely new perspective. Highly recommended.

The clarinet-playing guide was with Paris Canal (www.pariscanal.com). He played the clarinet as the boat went through the tunnel under the Place de la Bastille. I don't know if he's still there, but you could contact the firm to ask.

I took the tour last June and the guide played the clarinet when we went through a tunnel and it was very enjoyable. If fact, it was the best part of the tour for me.
