St Gilgen to Hallstatt

We are traveling in September in Austria and Slovenia.
We like to hike and bike and also to relax. Should we do 2 nights in St Gilgen (Vill Alms) and 2 in Hallstatt or 3 nights in Gilgen and 1 night in Hallstatt?
From there we head to Lake Bled and Ljubljana

Thanks for any suggestions.

We visited Hallstatt as a day trip from St Gilgen in the dead of winter one year. It was enough for us, as the wrong time of year for outdoor pursuits, but if I were to go back, I'd definitely consider at least a night there. As with most busy places, frequented by day trippers, I'd imagine its an entirely different atmosphere once the day trippers leave.
