Wow! I love the photos of Azay le Rideau and Villandry. We did not visit those chateaus. I do enjoy seeing photos of sights we missed in places we visited. Didn't visit Tours, either. I love the elaborate facade of the Tours Cathedral and the gothic interior with the massive columns.

Another favorite photo is the chapel at Chaumont Sur Loire. Is that a tree in front of the chapel? The photo looks like a painting!

I have just caught up, as I haven’t been able to login to Fodor’s for awhile. Love the chateaus, the gardens, the towns. What a great trip.

KarenWoo, Tours Cathedral was impressive but Bourges Cathedral tops it. We felt like we were in a forest with the massive columns there. There was a tree trunk as well as branches scattered all over the chapel; we could not tell if it was real but it is part of an art installation.

Adelaidean, thank you.

ANUJ, thank you.

TP, when we strolled past the Tours Cathedral last fall there was a funeral happening, so of course we passed on going inside (probably not allowed anyway).
Did you see the panels on display outside in the front courtyard/square?

I am done. the printemps

zebec, there was a wedding when we were there but we were able to go inside and admire the cathedral from the back. The panels are everywhere in France and very helpful.
