Splurge hotel in Naples?
We will be celebrating a big anniversary in Naples next month. I've been looking at Grand Hotel Vesuvio and The Excelsior. Anything else we should consider? I'm looking for luxurious, but not pretentious. Thanks!

Would this suit? I had a good stay a few years ago. You could take the junior suite.

Ekscrunchy-- That looks like a great place. I love Piazza di Martire. As many times as I've been in Naples, I don't know anything about hotel, except how they look on the outside. We always freeload on my wife's family on our trips to Napoli. However, we went to a wedding at the Grand Hotel Parker, on Corso Vittorio Emmanuelle, and I was really impressed.

I'll resurrect this thread to ask about hotels in Naples. I'm considering GH Parker's but wonder if it's too isolated from the center, and from great pizzerie, etc.
Can anyone here compare Parker's location to that of the big ones in Santa Lucia?
I'm resigned to taking many taxis due to partner's limited mobility, but would like to be in an area where I can just wander around and poke into shops, restaurants, etc...
If any of you have stayed at the Parker's, would you let me know your comments, please??
The other Virtuoso hotel in the city is the Romeo, but its just across from the cruise ship docks and on a busy highway, although it does have a pool....
I've been to Naples a few times in the past and always stayed in the Centro Storico and Chaia....so no idea about other areas.
