Speyer Technik Museum
As part of my time in Germany, in addition to Castles, I am interested in visiting the Speyer Technik museum. Look fairly interesting. I went to www.db.de the trains look pretty easy. But the trains seem to drop you at the Speyer HBF. How much would a taxi be from the Speyer HBF to the Museum?
Anyone been to this museum?

We were there last October. I have no idea about the taxi, since we drove.Speyer is a nice town with a nice shopping area. We had lunch at a restaurant near the cathedral.
The Museum was very interesting. Lots of autos, large trains, a submarine, planes outside and inside. It is pretty touristy but well laid out and not too large. I especially liked their car collection. You could see it all in about two hours.
The Speyer museum is part of two museums. I can't remember the name of the other one but it is in another town nearby.

The walk from the train station to the museum will take you about 20-30 minutes and takes you through the old town and past the cathedral. I'd do at least one way on foot. If you're interested in medieval stuff, see the cathedral!
Instead of a taxi, you could also take the bus. There is a shuttle bus that departs in front of the train station and takes you everywhere in town, last time I went the fare was 1€ if I remember correctly (but it's been a while, not sure if that's still correct).

hi there,
yes, the shuttle bus still is 1 Euro - and you can use the ticket for one whole day. Havent been to that museum (as there were better options like Sinsheim, Munich, Mannheim), but the cathedral and the historical museum (right oposite) definitly are a MUST.
have fun
