Spain (esp. semana santa) experts
Suggestions for Holy Week?
I was whining that perhaps Poland would be my last trip until I discovered that I have enough frequent flyer miles for another European trip. Since then, I've been thinking about where I would go--which is not easy, as I've been "everywhere."
I'd really love to go to a Spanish fiesta called "Moros y Cristianos," in Alcoy/Alicante, Spain. It will occur on April 21--24, 2019. I'd like to pair that with some days, maybe a week, devoted to the Semana Santa processions--somewhere. Semana Santa (Holy Week) would be from April 14--21.
I've been to the processions in Málaga twice and don't want to go there again. Last year it was just too crowded. I'm looking for another city in which to see the processions. Any suggestions? One requirement would be that there has to be bleachers or seats along the route and that I could rent a seat. I just can't stand for very long, as my legs give out.
Also, who can recommend a Spanish language school? (I'll ask this question separately, too).

I haven't been to this, but Cartagena is known to have a good Semana Santa and I've read (can't swear) that they have seats for sale on the route.

That would tie in with your stay in Alicante as it isn't too terribly far south of there. Heree is info on how to buy tickets, even though from 2016, I presume methods would be about the same

They do list a URL for online seat purchases.

IN fact, that website seems to sell tickets to that other thing you were interested in, but maybe not where you want.
Now Ronda is a much smaller town that has processions with well-organized viewing as they all end up coming down the same street, and you can buy seats, but it's over towards Seville.

Cartagena is a much larger city but not as mobbed with tourists as Seville. It is on a direct train line from Alicante, also, only 2:20 hrs. Getting to Ronda would take maybe 8 hrs and multi transfers, probably going through Madrid, of course.
Maybe one of the Spain experts can help yo ubetter with knowing the seat things. It probalby also depends how far you want to trvel, if you are in Alicante. HEre's a good article to give you ideas all over Spain

Toledo or Segovia are ideas. This article says seats in Toledo are sold out months in advance
