We are two retied couples traveling from Boston to Spain & Portugal, late September and early October 2022 (aprox. 3 weeks). Our current itinerary plans are:
Boston to Barcelona; Barcelona to Seville; Seville to Madrid; Madrid to Lagos, Portugal; Lagos to Lisbon; Lisbon to Boston. We welcome any and all suggestions - best way to travel between cities; how many days in each location, recommendations for places to stay and what to see --- we are open to all suggestions. Thanks

Here is my 2015 Spain trip report (tons of photos, too) that includes Barcelona, Madrid and Sevilla. This should give you some ideas on places to see. Get online tickets before you leave for La Sagrada Familia. Get the earliest time, and you'll beat most of the crowds. We loved all three places. We also loved Toledo and Granada (same trip). We'll also be in Lisbon this fall. Have fun.

Are you planning to visit only these cities or are these simply indication of geographical locations you plan to cover, such Seville standing for Andalusia?

In terms of geography, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Lagos would make more sense than the sequence you present. I suspect that from Seville you can take a bus to the Algarve.

Absolutely love your travelogue -- and your sense of humor (not to mention that Mai Tai's are our favorite cocktails!). Will be re-reading it again and making notes -- really appreciate all you offer ....
