southern or northern spain
We are doing a trip to morocco in jUNE and want to travel for about ten days in spain.
We fly into Madrid initially and trying to decide whether to fly up and do the northern part (san Sebastian etc...) or stay in the south and drive around. Which part is more beautiful and interesting?
We will then go to Morocco for two and half weeks
thanks a lot for any advice re any of the above

Both the north and south have their own things to recommend them, so it depends on what you're looking for. Do you want town or country, museums, nightlife, galleries, beaches etc?
If you provide a bit more information, it would help.

They are vastly different cultures with different typography, histories, and in certain areas different languages. The south is most people's impression of Spain who have not visited the country but the north has wonderful charms of its own.

Southern Spain will be hot in June but it does have many "must see sites"!
Haven't been to NE Spain yet but above are my pics from NW Spain which is beautiful.
Central Spain also has many "must see" sites, Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca, Avila, etc.
Obviously, "must see's" are my own opinion so as not to bring the harassment of other Fodorites.
