SOS- Hotel recs for Lagos and Tarifa in Aug?
Hello,
This August 13-21, I'm going with two friends to Lagos, Portugal and Tarifa, Spain.
We would be VERY grateful for any advice on the following:
(1) Recommended HOTELS in Lagos and/or Tarifa (everything seems booked!)
(2) Any suggestions as to how many days to spend in each place? (about 9 days total)
If you have any suggestions, we would be greatly appreciative! Thank you very much!

Hi,
In Lagos I recommend the hotel Vivenda Miranda. It is cliffside overlooking the Mediterranean. Very good location and service. Their restaurant is very good, and they can recommend/make reservarions for some great restaurants in town. If exploration is your thing, you might get bored here after 3 days. If beach and nightlife is what you wnat, this is the place

We will be in the Lagos area the same time you will be. I finally found a hotel close to Lagos. It's Tivoli Arade and it looks like Tivoli is a chain hotel in Portugal like Marriott or Sheraton in the US. It's about 10 mins from Lagos in Portimao near the Praia da Rocha beach. They were reasonable and they also accept 4 people in a room (extra charge per person of course!). Also, I found a site for a Grotto Trip. It's for 2 hours ($17.00/person). They take you and show yu the famous caves and rock formations. Website if: http://algarveproperty.net/bomdia/
One other thing about the hotel, don't go directly to their website. Go to Expedia.com to book it because going directy with the hotel - it was almost double in price!

Well, I don't know how old you are, but I was just in Lagos, and stayed in the most amazing hostal ever. If you'd be interested, check out www.risingcock.com
It's brand new, but the guys who run it are awesome. The website has only just gone up so there aren't pics or anything, but email them and they'll give you any info you need. Write to Selmo or Mario, and tell them Laurie sent you. Enjoy! I ended up extending my trip for over a week at this hostal!
