Sorrento to Pescara

My husband and I are spending 2 weeks in Italy for our 25th wedding anniversary. Flying into Milan then traveling to Venice,Florence,Amalfi Coast and then have to make the pilgrimidge to my parents home town near Pescara. We wanted to train and/or bus around italy, but I'm having a problem finding the best way to the Adriatic coast using a bus or train. how is the drive from Sorrento or Naples to Pescara ? We are then traveling to Rome for two days and back to US. Any suggestions ? Train, bus or car ?

Well, you could rent a car in Sorrento and drive it, but it is along trip.
The train option has 4 chocies during the day withe fastest being 5:38---all of them have 2 connections. That one leaves Napoli Centrale at 12:50 and arrives in Pescara at 18:28

From Sorrento you have ot take the Cicumversuviana commuter line to Napoli Centralewhich tkes about an hour.
Hope this helps
