Maybe some people don't realize they can switch from C to F to understant what 21C means? Not easy to get Farengheit/Celcuis difference, I know that by personal experience.
Or maybe just pre-travel jitters

<<sometimes there is a lot to be said for getting the input of a local who has experienced the range of what weather is typical in a certain place as opposed to the "academic" information of the range of what the averages are statistically speaking
I agree.
I've spoken to so many people who were upset about rainy weather in Kauai over Christmas, or like Suze mentions, summer rain in Mexico.
IF they would have researched weather (and asked one of the dreaded weather questions), they might have discovered that they actually vacationed during the rainy season.
Similarly, I would want to know when hurricane season is in the Caribbean before planning a trip. A trip planned during that time could be totally ruined.
I don't mind rain in the city, b/c there's lots to do indoors. But if I am hiking in the Alps, or going to a beach destination, I want it to be sunny! Of course I *KNOW* I can't guarantee that, but I do research to find out when it is most likely we will encounter good weather. If I'm going to spent tons of $$ on a Caribbean vacation, why go during rainy season? There's not exactly a lot to do in the Caribbean when it rains.
