Guys, sorry to butt into this Western post (I'm a full blooded Northeaster)
but re someone's suggestion for better organization, try evite.com. It's really good for organizing potlucks, especially since you all only email each other. I've thrown loads of parties using it, b/c I'm a stickler for organization. (and no, I don't work for them, just my ARness was working up reading the post.)
Anyways, your idea sounds really great! Have a blast and raise a glass to your Eastern comrades!!!!!

Great idea Diane and Russ. I have approx 3500 slides to show; just kidding, but I do have an albin now, last year I started developing on CD's and printing them out on 8 1/2 x 11 and putting them into an albin.
Looking at evite, it is probable good for sending out invidations but not so good for passing general info between us, so I guess that I'll stick with the lounge.

Robin & Holly,
That was sort of the idea. To get us off of here where you have to search through a couple of pages sometimes to find it. I personally vote for the other method of staying in touch. Holly, if you go into the message that asks you to rsvp, there is a little box that says 'comments'. If you put something in there before clicking on yes, it shows up where the people's names are (on the right side of the window). That is where people have been saying what they were bringing, etc. Hope this helps.
ciao,
luigi

Dear Art and All:
Hope I'm not too late...Sounds like you are going to have a great time! I'm a beginning European traveller, but I'd like to come and learn from the experts. I'll bring risotto and cream puffs (if I could spell profiterolles I'd have said that)and my album.
From Fountain Valley now, but born and raised in Long Beach.
Mary

Hi Art!
Welcome back! Glad you arrived back safe and sound. Now, on to business...thanks for taking this on! I was travelling when this thread first started and only now saw it - count me in! I'm from Riverside but will gladly make the drive. November 12 works for me. Email me directly or let me know the web site you're using.
What a great idea and very generous of you to open up your home. I'm a newbie and just returned from my first trip to Europe, much of it based on all the wonderful advice and insight from this site. I'm very excited about this and will bring my photo album. I'm with Thyra though, no self-respecting Fodorite would want me to cook anything so I'll bring the liquids or more desserts as you can't have too many desserts!
Au revoir,
Joan
