Smartours tulip river cruise

Hi, we're taking our first river cruise in april - 7 days around holland and belgium. Has anyone taken this cruise? I read that the best time to see Amsterdam/tulips is in April (less rain then) which is great. I suppose we should bring euros? or will us$ be ok? Just found this site and think I will enjoy discussions..lots of info here!! Any advice on this cruise would be helpful!

Yes bring Euros, in shops etc. $ are not accepted or against a bad excahnge rate. You can take Euros out of ATM's that are all over NL.In Belgium also use Euros.
Tuliptime is mostly the 2nd part of April, but spring is warmer then usual, so earlier will be possible too.
For more info about river-cruises check that section on cruise-critics also.http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=191

Would your local shop accept euros? Of course you need to use the local currency, no you can't use dollars.

Have you never heard of April showers??? It can be as wet in April as any other month, and the way things are going here it well could be. But hopefully you will be lucky and we will have used up our quota of rain by then.
If you can give more info on where your cruise takes you we can offer more ideas maybe.

Thanks for info -river cruise includes visit to Rijksmuseum, village of Edam, drive to Enkhuizen, boat to Jijmegen, Antwerp, Ghent, Zeeland and the Delta Works and Keukenhof Gardens. Not the amenities on the boat compared to other cruises but looking forward to a different type of adventure, with lots of site seeing. Just hope the rain holds off - we did a 10 day trafalgar tour of Italy in 2004 - end of april, It rained 9.5 days .. but we still had a great time!!! Will check cruisecritic for more info..thanks.
