Sleep HERE in Rome with my 4 yr old? HELP HELP HELP...
We are 30+ travelling to Venice, Florence and Rome for 2 weeks starting Sept 25, 2011.
So I finally all set for my trip bookings are done incl flites/apartments etc. The only trouble is our apartment in Rome is yet to be discovered.....whatever I find and like seems to be booked between Oct 3-8
I finally seem to have found something and need your help to decide :
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/en/show...d_appartam=568
These are the other available though:
Belli A nightly rate: € 120.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...d_appartam=405
Germanico Mono nightly rate: € 100.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...d_appartam=555
Governo Palace nightly rate: € 115.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...d_appartam=302
Natale del Grande nightly rate: € 110.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...id_appartam=57
Palazzo Altoviti nightly rate: € 110.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...id_appartam=74
Pellegrino Panoramic nightly rate: € 130.00
https://www.sleepinitaly.com/apparta...d_appartam=246
(We stayed in Rome for 5 days last yr in May near Via Veneto....so a completely different location is interesting.....but am not sure how child friendly (read stroller) and easily walkable this area is).
I know millions of thread are in Trastevere....but still need YOU to help me decide....THANKS AGAIN

If your child is still using a stroller, the first apt. (while prettiest) is a safety nightmare.
Second & third apts. looks miniscule -- where does the little one sleep w/o you waking him/her?
4th apt. looks a bit more spacious with doors that can be closed for nap time, but no lift. That work for you?
Natale del Grande looks quite charming but area is not as upscale as the Via Veneto. Is that an issue?
Palazzo Altoviti -- no full-room shots of anything -- think shoebox.
Pellegrino Panoramic -- Is the terrace private and would that matter to you (sounds like a shared terrace.) Also, see comments above about no full-room photos and 4th floor/no lift.
None seem really ideal from limited info you shared. You'll be in best position to weigh trade-offs.

@gh21 : Hey.....it still shows available to me....but I won't be surprised!Thanks anyways for replying
@SuzChicago : That's was very prompt.....and detailed! You see my silly boss gave my holiday approval this week.....so very little time and choice for booking. My son uses stroller only when he is tired of walking when we are travelling.....do you think the Manara Loft is a good option then?

How old is he and how rambunctious? How much of a climber? Stair and loft railings have the potential to lead to fall overs as there is no real enclosure. I would be a bit nervous only because it means you are always "on duty" while in the apt. to make sure he doesn't get up there and fall over.

@SuzChicago: He's a big boy....will be 4 when we travel! And though he loves to run up and down the stairs, has been OK with the expirience till date!
Have not stayed in Trastevere and also not ventured there ever....but this apartment looks aweso, has good review o tripadvisor.....just not sure about the location!
Thanks again!

I would imagine age 4 would be fine for the loft. I can't get the map to work (it comes up blank) and there is no address listed for the apt. I do like Trastevere -- the central part. You feel like you are surrounded by Italians and not just other tourists. It's a place where people live, shop, etc. But, it all depends where it is located. can you get an address from them?

With that open railing on the loft, I would absolutely NOT stay there!!!! It's an invitation to a child to climb on it, and fall off. Even if you told him not to, he's likely to try it. All I can say is NO! NO! NO!

I agree: if you want the most desirable location but only budget 125E or so, there are going to be trade-offs (space, stairs, etc.). Only you know what you can accept. That said, Governo Palace would be my choice.
