Skyexpress eliminated a flight!
We booked flights from Naxos to Milan via Athens for August, leaving Naxos at 1:40 pm and arriving in Milan at 7 pm.
Today I got an email saying our flight is now Athens to Milan on Aug 30 at 7:30 am!!!! I am in the U.S. and am not sure how to call (I don’t have an international plan).
they do have flights from Naxos to
milan that day; the Athens leg is operated by easyjet. They also have a Naxos to Rome flight that we could do.
ive emailed them asking them to consider switching us. While I wait, any advice? What a cluster!

I looked on skyexpress. They showed an option that uses sky to Athens and then Easyjet to Milan,
am i right that they need to get us from Naxos to Athens and if that requires an overnight they need to pay for a hotel and transport?

When I look at Sky Express' website, it shows no flight options from Naxos to Milan on Aug. 30, 2025. There are flight options the day prior and the day following. The only place I see a Sky Express to Easy Jet itinerary is on Kayak. So, if you actually booked on Kayak, maybe contact Kayak?

FWIW, it's more than 7 months until your travel day. Flights could change again....

Your description is what leads me (and Jean) to think you booked via a third party? If so, calling the airlines will not help you, unfortunately. You need to call whomever you booked through.
Cautionary tale for future to always book with applicable airlines directly.
You don't have to have an international plan, btw. You can download WhatsApp and make international calls as long as you are connected via wif or through your network.
But, Whatsapp is owned by Meta, so, I'm not optimistic that it's encrypted features will remain encrypted, but I digress.

Jean took the trouble to research this - cuz I sure couldn't figure out how you managed a booking with EasyJet and another carrier. If that's the case . . . yes! 100% If you booked on Kayak or some other online travel agent you can only deal with them. The airlines can't/won't help you.
I have an international plan now . . . but before I did I'd just call. Never was overly expensive. But in any case calling the airline won't get you anywhere unless you booked directly with the airline. If it was Kayak etc -- I'm sure they will have a toll free number.
. . . and Jean is correct -- this far out there is a good chance one or both of your flights will have a schedule change - or several.

I'm so confused. Certainly you have some sort of ticket/documentation that you received from your booking with SkyExpress that shows both the SkyExpress and EasyJet flights, yes? Perhaps you can screenshot it and upload it as a picture (redact booking reference and other personal information). It's really difficult to help without seeing what your seeing.
I don't know why WhatsApp didn't work - I make international calls to/from Europe all the time using it over my home wifi.

Did you try emailing them if you can't/won't call them? AS others have said WhatApp should work for a voice call.

Did the email you received about the flight change actually come from Sky Express? What is the sender's exact email address? Does the email say "Do not respond to this email" and/or did you hit Reply when you sent your email to them yesterday? It could be that your reply will never be seen/read.

I will call them eventually -need to know what to say though.
In November I booked directly with the airline and paíd for a flight from Naxos to Milán in August leaving naxos at 13:40 and arriving in Milán at 19:10. I have the itinerary.
Two days ago, the airline emailed me saying my flights changed so now the flight is just Athens to Milán, leaving at 7:30 am. The Naxos to Athens part of the trip disappeared. .
I can’t believe that the airline has no duty to get me from Naxos to Athens after the flight i bought originated from Naxos.
There is no flights from Naxos on the day of departure that will get me to Athens in time to catch a 7:30 am flight. If the airline books me on a previous day flights, I will have to spend the night in Athens.
I emailed the airline. Have not heard back.

It did come from sky express. And they give you an email, flightchange @skyexpress.gr, which I typed in.

But why would the airline owe you money for a hotel? You have to pay for that night somewhere. Either on Naxos or in Athens so it shouldn't cost you anything 'extra'. Now, if the schedule change meant you were delayed a day and needed an extra hotel night - there would be a argument.
I'm still curious how you managed a single booking that combines Sky Express and easyJet. On your original confirmation e-mail from Sky Express does it show the easyJet fight details?

OverIt,
I'm sorry this happened but flight routes can change at any time. An airline can eliminate an underperforming route or even maybe they noticed that they should not have sold the route offered. There could be many other reasons.
Technically they are offering you a replacement, it just is not what you are wanting and/or works for you. But hopefully talking with them will help.
Start by checking the contract of carriage for terms of your original booking. t may describe things about flight changes and if there is a remedy.

I'm no expert but if you purchased tickets from A to B and now the airline are unable to do this journey, then I would have thought that at a minimum they should offer cancellation. Good news is that you have time to book another ticket if needed.
I've long thought airline tickets are an exception to most known rules. What else do you buy many months in advance (a product where they explicitly say they can't guarantee delivery of service) and getting a refund is either expensive or unavailable? I get so stressed booking tickets because I know that any mistake I make cannot be easily undone. I once booked family tickets to Europe (approx $10,000AUD) online and felt incredibly anxious. Yesterday I booked flights and within minutes realised I should have booked a slightly different date but the deed was done. I believe that in the USA there is a 24 hour I-made-a-mistake opportunity to change but not here. Apologies if this is off topic.

I never managed a single booking with skyexpress and easyjet. I thought i saw one on the skyexpress website.
i hear you on the hotel but there is a difference between staying in one hotel for your stay and having to change hotels and spend one night in a totally different city and arrange transfers to and from the AirPort. The change eliminated a Whole leg.
Skyexpress does offer a flight from Naxos to Rome on the correct date, vía Athens. I would not mind that option. We could have lunch in rome and train it to Milán. But I worry that if we accépt that and things change again…..
