It does attest to the earlier Dutch settlements on this region. Fishkill, Wynantskill, Peekskill are just some of many "kill" towns. <BR> <BR>There is a nearby town called Cohoes. Guess where the "clever" ones place an "n"....

In Perth, Western Australia there is a suburb called Innaloo. This may or may not mean something to Americans. In British slang a loo is a toilet. The word comes from the french lieu=place.

The "politician" I referred to as being from Idaho was not some local fellow running for tax collector or anything. I learned by accident that he is Michael Crapo, US Senator from Idaho, who is quite popular in his home state. I think his office deserves a high measure of respect. So I would like to withdraw my reference.

Just to protect my credibility here: yes, maybe there's no place called Fucking, but I distinctly remember seeing it in a travel brochure, and a picture of the place sign with a tourist. It was a couple of years ago, and they did say that the townspeople wanted to change the name, so maybe they did already. Just to let you know I wasn't intentionally not telling the truth!

For those of you up on their German there is in Austria a town called Moesen. It is not far from Nabeln. <BR> <BR>In Western Australia the Premier (Governor)'s name is Richard Court. At the recent Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney there was an effigy of him grimacing with pain, which read: is Dick Court in the door?

Though we're really getting off the track here, there's also a State politician in NSW whose name is Richard Face...
