Sicily in November - Good time to go? Bad time to go?

We are thinking of going to Sicily in early November, but I am reading conflicting reports about the likely weather we'll encounter - ranging from
moderate weather/great time to go to grey and rainy/miserable time to go. I don't mind a little rain, but am not looking for a rain gear vacation, either.
Thoughts?

Thank you in advance.

Beginning or end of November? We had spent two weeks in Sicily in the last weeks of October and beginning of November and the weather was perfect for all 14 days, except for one. But who can predict the weather?

There will be no crowds and this is a huge advantage. However, if you are looking for more vibe, Sicily in November might be a little quiet for you.

We used to own a seasonal hotel and had to do our European vacations in November. We read all the same stuff. We had two perfect November vacations in Sicily. Our son last fall was there last November, including Thanksgiving, and they were swimming near Ortygia. We found it quiet in a good way, but busy enough. As for the weather, of course, you never know, but...........

I've spend November in Sicily and recall it as springlike - rather balmy at times and a great time to visit as relatively few other tourists around.

I would think early November, or any time of November, would be a great time to visit.

You all have been very helpful and encouraging. One last question: in November, are we apt to find a lot of restaurants and hotels closed for the season?

Yes, some of them will be closed, but you will be spoiled for choice for those that stay open all year round. Especially, in Palermo, Siracusa, etc.
